The difference between explosion-proof dome camera  and explosion-proof PTZ camera,  the full name of the dome camera, is a representative of the current development of television monitoring, it integrates an integrated camera, PTZ, decoder, shield and other multi-functional and integrated, easy to install, simple to use but  widely used in the monitoring of open areas, different occasions can be used. Built-in integrated camera (including zoom lens), PTZ structure, decoder, the use of spherical shield integrated front-end imaging equipment called integrated dome camera. It has a small size, beautiful appearance, powerful, easy to install, use simple, easy maintenance, etc., and is commonly called "fast ball" or "ball machine".


The explosion proof pan tilt is used to install and fix the camera , it is divided into two kinds of fixed and motorized types. Fixed type is suitable for monitoring a small range of cases, after the installation of the explosion proof camera on the fixed pan tilt can adjust the camera's various angles, to achieve the best working posture as long as the locking adjustment mechanism can be. Motorized pan tilt is suitable for scanning surveillance on a wide range, it can expand the monitoring range of the explosion proof camera. Motorized  high-speed attitude is achieved by two executive motor, the motor accepts the signal from the controller to run accurately positioning. Under the action of the control signal, the explosion proof camera on the pan tilt can both automatically scan the surveillance area, and also track the surveillance object under the manipulation of the monitoring center duty personnel.

There are three types of common explosion proof dome cameras on the market: fixed, rotatable, and PTZ functional  types. The explosion proof ptz cameras has two motors inside the pan tilt, which are responsible for the rotation of the  up and down and left and right in each direction. The different working voltage also determines the overall working voltage of the head, generally there are AC 24V, AC 220V. When receiving the up and down action voltage, the vertical motor will rotate and drive the vertical drive wheel disk to rotate through the reducer box; when receiving the left and right action voltage, the horizontal motor will rotate and drive the horizontal gear disk at the bottom of the head to rotate through the reducer box.

It should be noted that the PTZ has horizontal and vertical limit pins, and the PTZ is realized by two micro-switches respectively to achieve the limit function. When the rotation angle reaches the pre-set limit pins, the micro switch will cut off the power and the PTZ will stop rotating. The limit device can be located outside the head, the adjustment process is simple, or can be located inside the head, through the external adjustment mechanism to adjust, the adjustment process is relatively complex. However, the sealing of the head with external limit device is not as good as the head with built-in limit device.

Outdoor explosion proof ptz camera and indoor PTZ cameras are generally the same, only because of the outdoor shield weight is larger, so that the load capacity of the PTZ must be increased. At the same time, the outdoor environment is susceptible to rain or moisture erosion due to the large changes in heat and cold. Therefore, outdoor PTZ are generally designed as sealed rainproof type. In addition, the outdoor PTZ has high torque and choke protection circuit to prevent the motor from burning when the head freezes and forcibly starts. Temperature-controlled heaters can also be installed inside the head under severe conditions of low temperature.
